Thank You for a Successful Year 2!



THANK YOU to all who have helped make the second season of Pusch Ridge Golf a HUGE success.


The course is now closed for summer 2023, but we wanted to show our appreciation to our volunteers who have helped with our events to our weekly Wednesday morning clean-up crew to each of you who have played the course – THANK you, thank you, thank you.


Because of your efforts and support, we have accomplished the following this season!


  • 16,530 rounds played (we exceeded last year by 8%!) Note: a significant number of the greater play this year came from our youth outreach. Many families took advantage of the kids playing free after 2:00pm.


Grew 3 FOPRG weekly leagues

  • Men’s Monday League = a total of 101 registered players with an average of 32-34 golfers each week

  • Wed’s Mixed League = a total of 150 registered players with an average of 35-45 golfers each week

  • Thurs Women’s Golf = a total of 111 registered players with an average of 30 golfers each week


After FOPRG League lunches or dinners organized, which helped to support Oro Valley businesses

  • 25 Men’s Mon League lunches on the Pusch Ridge Golf patio (Thank you to Tony & Lisa D’Angelo for cooking and preparing preparing the majority of these lunches, along with Martin Fricke, Mike Clary and Stan New.)

  • Wed’s Mixed League members went to the Hilton Resort or one of the local Oro Valley restaurants every week for libations, meals and celebrations.

  • Women’s Thursday end of year lunch hosted by league manager, Jeannee Yermakoff

Golf club and equipment round-up for First Tee of Tucson was organized. The following was collected

Volunteer Weds morning ‘clean-up crew’ helped the course management with

FOPRG El Con Ground Committee representation resulted in many improvements on the course, including

FOPRG organized and hosted a Super Sports Sunday event

  • An all-Town celebration at Pusch Ridge Golf course to enjoy the Super Bowl, the Phoenix Open Waste Management PGA tournament, USTA Jr. Tennis Tournament, which was played on the Pusch Ridge tennis courts. Black Top Grill provided a food truck and Oro Valley Girl Scout Troop #157 sold their delicious cookies.

All-day happy hour successes

  • FOPRG negotiated all-day happy hour pricing for Pusch Ridge golfers at two local restaurants (Firetruck Brewing and The Landing)

  • “We greatly appreciated you, and all the golfers who supported Firetruck Brewing Company this year. So many guests brought laughter, and wise words. Thank you!!” (General Manager of Fire Truck Brewing)

  • “My executive chef and I played golf at Pusch Ridge! I was impressed! What a fun course. I just wanted to say thank you for involving us in the promotion this year.” (General Manger of The Landing)

Throughout the season, the FOPRG Board and Advisors were diligently focused on our mission of keeping the course open and achieved this by:


Conducted over 35 business meetings

  • 13 meetings with a Town and a FOPRG representative

  • 2 Quarterly meetings with the Town/Indigo/FOPRG representatives

  • 20 FOPRG Board and Advisors meetings


Implemented FOPRG marketing plan that included

  • Live Sign ‘Em Up Events garnered 68 new Friends who signed up for FOPRG’s newsletters

  • Hand-delivered hundreds of “Hotel Guest Golf Package” signage and rack cards to 15 local hotels and resorts

  • Met with resort and hotel management teams to explain the golf package and increase their awareness of Pusch Ridge golf for their guests

  • Implemented a guest referral program with El Con Resort employees and awarded a monthly prize for the employee with the most referrals to the course

  • Delivered Pusch Ridge league and general information pamphlets to 14 local apartment complexes

  • 300 social media posts that promoted play and FOPRG awareness

  • 11 e-Newsletters sent and delivered to 700 inboxes pr newsletter

Joined and became an active member of the Oro Valley Chamber of Commerce




NONE of the above would have happened without YOUR time, energy and support!


As the end of the second season comes to a close – we still plan to keep you informed of any new developments, but our newsletters will be less frequent.


We look forward to seeing you in the fall as we kick off season #3 at Pusch Ridge Golf!
