Below is a brief history of the Pusch Ridge Golf Course.

1983

Pusch Ridge Golf Course opens (the adjacent Sheraton El Conquistador Hotel opened in 1982)

2003

Sheraton El Conquistador is sold. Buyers include Hilton Hotels Corp. Hotel is  renamed El Conquistador Tucson.

2015

El Conquistador Tucson Resort sold to HSL Properties. HSL sells the Pusch Ridge Golf Course and the El Conquistador Golf and Tennis properties to the Town of Oro Valley.

2018

The Town of Oro Valley considers options for Pusch Ridge Golf Course, including leasing the facility back to HSL.

2020

In April, the golf course closes for the summer.  The Town of Oro Valley Mayor announces tentative agreement with HSL to lease the Pusch Ridge Golf Course to HSL, beginning with the 2020/2021 golf season. In November, because of the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, HSL requests an extension to reconsider the tentative lease agreement. The golf course does not open for the winter golf season.

2021

In January, HSL declares they will not lease the Pusch Ridge Golf Course from the Town of Oro Valley. In March, the Town Council approves a plan prepared by staff to reopen the golf course. The Town Manager is directed to work with The Friends of Pusch Ridge Golf to coordinate a subsidy arrangement similar to that in place for the 36 holes of golf at the Oro Valley Community Center. The course opens on November 1, 2021.

2024

On February 7, 2024 The Oro Valley Town Council voted to keep the Pusch Ridge course open without any time limitations. This decision was a result of the courses success and improved playing rounds over the last two and one-half years.
