Below is a brief history of the Pusch Ridge Golf Course.
Pusch Ridge Golf Course opens (the adjacent Sheraton El Conquistador Hotel opened in 1982)
Sheraton El Conquistador is sold. Buyers include Hilton Hotels Corp. Hotel is renamed El Conquistador Tucson.
El Conquistador Tucson Resort sold to HSL Properties. HSL sells the Pusch Ridge Golf Course and the El Conquistador Golf and Tennis properties to the Town of Oro Valley.
The Town of Oro Valley considers options for Pusch Ridge Golf Course, including leasing the facility back to HSL.
In April, the golf course closes for the summer. The Town of Oro Valley Mayor announces tentative agreement with HSL to lease the Pusch Ridge Golf Course to HSL, beginning with the 2020/2021 golf season. In November, because of the financial impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, HSL requests an extension to reconsider the tentative lease agreement. The golf course does not open for the winter golf season.
In January, HSL declares they will not lease the Pusch Ridge Golf Course from the Town of Oro Valley. In March, the Town Council approves a plan prepared by staff to reopen the golf course. The Town Manager is directed to work with The Friends of Pusch Ridge Golf to coordinate a subsidy arrangement similar to that in place for the 36 holes of golf at the Oro Valley Community Center.
