Happy Holidays

Happy Holidays

The Friends of Pusch Ridge Golf (FOPRG) wish you and yours a wonderful holiday.

Make sure to notice this wreath (shown above) the next time you are at the Pusch Ridge course. This handmade golf-themed beauty is at the entrance to the Pusch Ridge pro shop. In addition, a comparable wreath is located on the 6th green porta-potty! Thanks go to Lisa D'Angelo (FOPRG marketing team) for making the wreaths!

It has been a fruitful and exciting fall, and we look forward to a fantastic 2023!

For 2023 the FOPRG Board has voted to support youth as one of our main philanthropic efforts. We hope to partner with organizations like the PGA Junior League, local schools, and families. Stay tuned as plans begin to develop after the first of the year.

FOPRG gets involved

At the December 7, 2022 Oro Valley Town Council meeting, FOPRG members were well represented. On the consent agenda, two Friends were approved to join Town boards and commissions:

  • Niranjan Vescio was appointed to the O.V. Water Commission. Niranjan is also the FOPRG Chairman of the Board.

  • Gary Temple was appointed to the O.V. Parks and Recreation Advisory Board. Gary is an active member of FOPRG's Wednesday Mixed golf league.

Also, Tony D'Angelo (FOPRG President) spoke at the meeting. He advocated for the Town to use available American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds to extend the reclaimed water distribution system to Pusch Ridge Golf, James D. Kriegh Park, and Canada Del Oro Riverfront Park.

Need a break from the holiday festivities?

The holidays often present a dizzying array of demands — cooking meals, shopping, baking, cleaning, and entertaining, to name a few.

If you're looking for a break from the holiday festivities, invite friends or family members to join you for a fast, fun and affordable 9-hole 'break' at Pusch Ridge!

According to WebMD.com, golf helps to recharge and refresh your body and brain. Playing golf:

  • Reduces stress due to physical activity and the joy of being close to nature

  • Is an excellent way to stay in touch with friends

  • Improves social interactions by bringing together people who have a shared interest

  • Develops a sense of bonding with your community

  • Helps you retain a sense of achievement by becoming better at something that you enjoy doing

  • Actively engages your body and mind

Remember, Friends don't let friends golf alone!

Book your tee time NOW at elcongolf.com. The course will be closed on December 25 but open before and after this date.

And most importantly…

Thank you, thank you, thank you for your immense support.

From those who helped with our opening scramble on October 31, to those who play in our weekly leagues or on their own with others.

Thanks to your incredible commitment and patronage we not only exceeded our 1st-year golf round estimates last season, but YOU have helped to achieve over 2,300 rounds of golf in November 2022!

Wising you a very special, happy holiday season and we will 'see' you in 2023.

With gratitude,

The Friends of Pusch Ridge Golf Board and Advisors
