Birthday Bash Tournament

Our April 26th Birthday Bash Tourney Celebration is right around the corner!

We are celebrating three major milestones with this celebration: the end of Year 3 after our course’s exciting re-opening in 2021; 40 years of golf at Pusch Ridge since it’s original opening; and the Town of Oro Valley’s 50-year birthday! 3-40-50 reasons to celebrate!

Even though our morning and afternoon shotguns are sold out (resulting in 96 players), we have plenty of lunch-only tickets available, so please join us.

Lunch is a delicious and filling turkey or vegetarian box lunch catered by the Hilton El Conquistador. A cash bar will be available. The luncheon will be at the Last Territory at the Hilton El Conquistador Resort,  down the hill from the main Resort. It starts at 11:30AM and ends at 12:45PM. Cost is $25. Get your tickets HERE!

Although plans are coming together nicely for this event, we could still use some raffle prizes. Please get in touch with either Anna Bifano at Annabifano73@gmail.com or Carolyn Weinig at cweinig@icloud.com if you can help out.

REMINDER: for players and lunch-only ticket holders – check your in-boxes on April 24th. This is when we will send out emails with last-minute instructions for checking in, parking etc.

Hotel Guest Referral Winner

Illiana, the concierge at the El Conquistador Resort, won the most referral cards to the Pusch Ridge Golf Course for March. Thank you Illiana for your enthusiasm and support!

Pusch Ridge Golf offers an all-inclusive deal for hotel and resort guests that has been offered since the course reopened in 2021. The “Hotel Guest Special” includes 9-hole play, golf cart, rental clubs and a brand new sleeve of Callaway golf balls for $45. Perfect for the out-of-town guest who wants to play and doesn’t have their clubs with them.

FOPRG volunteers market this guest special to 16 local hotels and resorts by placing rack cards and information flyers throughout the properties.

FOPRG also coordinates and provides funds for a referral program that supports the guest package. Resort/hotel staff members are given referral cards to which they sign their names. Guests hand in the referral cards to the Pro Shop when they check in for golfing. A drawing happens at the end of each month, and the hotel/resort staff member with the most referral cards earns $50 cash!

Town of Oro Valley 50th Parade Celebration

In the early morning of April 6th eleven dedicated Friends met to participate in the Town of Oro Valley’s 50th Anniversary parade.

Even though our ‘contingent’ was small, the recognition and cheers we received from the spectators along the parade route were tremendous and exciting!

A special thanks to Scott and Terri Stream, Lisa and Tony D’Angelo, Dan Talsma, Jeannee Yermakoff, Anji Verlaque, Carolyn Weinig, Anna Bifano, Maureen McNeary, Terry Sieben and Matt Wood who represented the Friends well.

Hole-In-One Club

According to the American Hole’n One’s website, the odds of making a hole-in-one for a non-professional player are 12,500 to 1. (https://www.hio.com/americanhno-blog/odds-of-making-a-hole-in-one)

We are proud to announce that the course has three golfers (that we know of) who have achieved this amazing feat.

To commemorate and honor these players, the Friends worked with the Pro Shop to develop a certificate for the players. The Pro Shop personalizes the certificate and awards it to the players. Additionally, the Friends have purchased a plaque for the Pro Shop wall. The plaque will list the player's names, dates of hole-in-one, and the hole number.

Congratulations to the following Pusch Ridge Hole-In-One Club members!

  • Cindi Keeler: November 24, 2021, Hole #4

  • Amy Jo Obbink: November 9, 2023, Hole #9

  • DeeAnn Leuzinger: March 12, 2024, Hole #8

Is Your Home WaterSmart?

Did you know that Oro Valley residents have a free tool available through the WaterSmart Portal? It was implemented to help Oro Valley Water Utility customers learn more about water use, encourage conservation and save money.

One of the excellent features includes alerts and notifications of high-water use. If you are traveling or a snowbird, an alert about a broken pipe or malfunctioning irrigation system can help you quickly solve a serious situation. Signing up is simple – just click on this link!
