Give "Birdies" and "Eagles" a Boost
Event Date: Friday, November 7, 2025
FRIENDS OF PUSCH RIDGE GOLF TOURNAMENT IS AN EPIC SUCCESS
It is challenging to put into words how momentous this tournament was! We will do our best to summarize – there’s so much to share and so many THANK YOU’S to bestow!
On Friday November 7th, The Friends of Pusch Ridge Golf hosted “Give Eagles and Birdies a boost” – a fundraiser for our Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary Program Certification and Friends of Pusch Ridge Golf course and community projects. With the society’s guidance, our course will focus on protecting our natural resources and enhancing the environmental quality of the property. We will work to improve this incredible wildlife habitat, conserve resources and implement sustainable practices.
During the tournament luncheon held at The Last Territory, one of El Conquistador Hilton’s wonderful venues, we heard from the partners leading the Audubon endeavor. Mayor Joe Winfield, Karl Shaddock, (Town of Oro Valley Managers Office), Darryl Janisse (El Conquistador Golf, General Manager) and Carolyn Weinig (Friends of Pusch Ridge Golf Audubon Advisory Group). The work ahead is significant to meet the requirements. With your help as volunteers and through your generous donations and participation, our vision will become a reality!
We are excited to share with you that the net amount raised was $8,000. We are so appreciative of your generosity as golf and lunch participants – 31 at the Eagle level, several very substantial cash donors and our venue and hole sponsors. We live in an amazing community. THANK YOU!
96 golfers participated in the morning and afternoon shotguns. The El Conquistador Golf Team, led by our Pusch Ridge LPGA Golf Pro Cindy MacNider arrived at dawn to prep the carts, get the course ready and welcome the golfers. At the turn – they unloaded and reloaded 96 bags seamlessly! What an incredible group. THANK YOU!
39 volunteers from FOPRG managed registration, sold Mulligans, 50/50 tickets, limited edition hats and organized door prizes for both shotguns and the celebration lunch. Our village is generous beyond words. THANK YOU!
Our 31 Eagles level donors and cash donors received a limited edition FOPRG Audubon Certification hat! The remaining hats are being sold by Scott Hunt for only $25.00. Get one before they are all gone! Thank you, Scott!
Darryl Janisse and Cesar Balganon, El Con Golf Pro’s, skillfully drove the ball for a donation on the third hole! Rumor has it that a few teams scored birdies and eagles on this challenging hole – taking full advantage of those extremely long drives!! THANK YOU!
Laura Baldwin organized the hole sponsors and swag bags that were abundant with fun stuff. We are so appreciative – local businesses coming together to support FOPRG!
Our venue sponsor was THE EL CONQUISTADOR TUCSON, A HILTON RESORT. We noshed at the Last Territory in between shotguns, they sponsored a foursome and Hilton Team Members welcomed golfers on the first hole with music, water and a specialty libation!
But wait – there’s more!!!! Here are the other incredible hole sponsors: All of their information is located on The Friends of Pusch Ridge Golf website: THANK YOU!
